My lifetime I can control

So leave me be

Until I am free from this hatred.

Although it seems clear

I’d no longer like to feel this

 

Life can be love

It can be a flower blooming on a tree

It seems I am just understanding

What the sole purpose of this reckless world we live in

 

But how much longer can this last?

When will my mind surrender?

When will my mind recognize

Life can be more than war

It can be a chance to recognize

Our purpose and reason to be living

But just once

I’d like to no longer battle

The one thing that lives within me

The one entity that eludes me

My own mind
